Scope and Content North Face of Ben Nevis, Glen Nevis and the Mamores. The weather observatory at the top of Ben Nevis was operational (and permanently manned) from 1883 to 1916. Glen Nevis is the location of prehistoric cists, hut circles and 18-19th century farmstead, also a vitrified fort, middle right of the picture.
