Scope and Content The Dornoch caravan park is in the foreground. Behind to the right is the site of a quarry where the stone was extracted to build the Cathedral. Just visible in the trees is the Cathedral (of St Mary and St Gilbert) and burial ground. Building work started circa 1223. It was burnt down by the MacKays in 1570, rebuilt in early 17c. The renovations in 19c destroyed much of the earlier building. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
