Scope and Content This view shows the settlement of Stittenham on the old "Great North Road", previously the A9 now the B9716. A large clearing in the forest is marked on the 1st Edition OS survey (1843-1882) and on the current OS map and has the words "Drove Stance". This is not recorded on Canmore but is on the HC HER (ID MHG33305), centred on NH 65433 75203. 0n this view the clearing is roughly in the centre of the left half of the view, planted with trees and outlined by snowy rides. A hut circle has been recorded on Canmore (ID 13752) at "Drove stance". Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
