Scope and Content This is a view of the SNH building near Craig Dunain, Inverness. It was named Great Glen House and built on the site of a former nurses' home at Wester Craigs. The building has won many awards for design and energy efficiency, including sustainable building of the year, 2006. The construction used recycled and green materials and staff moved in in 2006. SNH is to be rebranded as NatureScot from May 2020. The photo also shows the Northern Counties and District Lunatic Asylum, known locally as Craig Dunain and now being developed into luxury accommodation. Towards the top of the picture are the River Ness and Caledonian Canal. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
