Scope and Content This is a general view of Tain, historically a pilgrimage site associated with St. Duthac. The town has many historic buildings none of which can be seen clearly in this photograph but which include the Old Parish Church (now the St. Duthac Centre). The A9 bypass can be seen clearly looping round the town and in the background is Loch Eye and the coastline of the Tarbat peninsula. On the right hand side of the road are Hartfield House and Garden, the Easter Ross Union Poorhouse and the farm buildings of North Glastullich.
