Scope and Content The image has Boat of Garten village in the foreground, and looks along Strathspey towards Loch Pityoulish (top left) and Aviemore. The Strathspey Railway and its station and sidings are noticeable. Archaeology includes the motte site at Tom Pitlac beside the Spey, and the Balnafoich field system which occupies open land at centre right below the irregular lochan.
