An oblique aerial view of Kinchyle, Croy and Dalcross, Nairn, looking NW.

SC 1945644

Description An oblique aerial view of Kinchyle, Croy and Dalcross, Nairn, looking NW.

Date 2000

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1945644

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content A close view of fields at Kinchyle showing a number of features. Below centre and a little left half way to the road in the bottom of the image is the faint outline of a ring ditch. Two other lie higher up that field, and less distinct circular features across all of the fields may well be further ones. At the top of the field is a possible building and some rig and furrow. In the cornfield to the right an enclosure has been recorded but is not visible here. However in the rough ground top left two of the three Ackron cairns of possible bronze age date are visible. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
