Scope and Content Clachnaharry is the most northern lock on the Caledonian Canal and gives access from Clachnaharry basin into the Beauly and Moray Firths. It was constructed in 1810-11, and the gates were originally from Welsh Oak. It was an impressive technical feat of construction at the time.
