Scope and Content Golspie is a planned village, laid out in 1805. The High School, opened in 1963, is just below centre. It was on this site that a Pictish symbol stone was discovered in 1942. It is now in Dunrobin Museum. Another cross slab was discovered in the graveyard at centre of picture in 1776 and taken to Dunrobin Museum in 1868. There is a C19 military battery on the coast between Golspie and Dunrobin Castle, which can be seen among the trees at upper centre.
