Scope and Content The image features Bronze Age and post-medieval agricultural settlement. A distinct hut circle in lower centre is one of two at Coille Innis Bhreac, accompanied by clearance cairns. At upper centre, the rig and furrow of the depopulated township of Achinael is well depicted by the snow cover. Beyond and to its left a hut circle is clearly seen, this being one of 4 recorded as part of the Creag an Amalaidh field system. The township and Bronze Age features overlap. More hut circles, recorded respectively as Achinael and Loch Tarvie / Leathad na Cloiche, are located in the lower part of the upper right sector of the image, but only one is possibly discernible in the photo. The straight diagonal track across the hill face towards top right edge of image leads to a large field system, with hut circles, also recorded as Creag an Amalaidh. In this photo, distance prevents features of the site from being visible. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
