Scope and Content A heather-covered hut circle is seen at lower right of image, with widely distributed clearance cairns. Parallel to the stone dyke is a heather covered dyke at a few metres distance, probably older. Although one might attribute significance to this double alignment, in this instance it is probably the result of one boundary replacing the other. A drystane dyke would ideally have several metres clearance from an older in situ structure (for ease of preparing the base and laying out stone during construction). The boundary may have been important as, on OS mapping, it extends for circa 1km over the summit of Cnoc an Torra Mhoir in a straight line before becoming irregular at Achnammeann. The extent of the doubling is unclear due to recent forestry operations. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
