Scope and Content This view shows the village of Kirkhill, SE of Beauly. The road leading to Wardlaw Mausoleum (just off the photo at bottom L) is in the foreground. Wardlaw House, formerly the Church of Scotland manse, is in the trees in centre foreground. In the centre of Kirkhill is Wardlaw Parish Church of Scotland and graveyard, 1790. Substantial remedial work has recently been undertaken on this church. In front of this but scarcely visible is Mains of Achnagairn farmstead shown on the 1st Edition OS. To the left is East Achnagairn gate lodge circa 1800, listed. Top right in the trees is Achnagairn country house circa 1800.
