Scope and Content A close view of the area centred on An Dun, a small broch, within a ditched enclosure. Below and right are the footings of a much more recent farm buildings. Other sites from that latter period can be seen in the grassy areas lower left and extending right into the heather, in the grass and heather directly beyond the broch and in the valley bottom close to the bridges. Only some of these features appear to be recorded. Directly below the broch at the bottom of the picture a heather covered kerbed cairn is partially surrounded by bracken and grass. To its left and right and extending beyond the broch to the right and upwards is an extensive settlement of bronze or iron age roundhouses, clearance cairns and field systems. A similarly multi-period farming landscape can be seen on the more distant hillsides top right. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
