Scope and Content Fearn Airfield was built for the RAF in WW2. It was taken over by the Royal Navy in 1942, RNAS Fearn (HMS Owl). It has 3 runways, buildings and hangars and 3 large Nissan huts. The 4 storey tower may be the only surviving one of this type in Scotland. In the foreground was Loans Of Rarichie, a farmstead shown on the 1st Edition OS.
