Scope and Content Cromarty became a Royal Burgh in the C13 and many of the buildings are of historical significance. This view shows the North and South Sutors commanding the entrance to the Cromarty Firth. On both headlands there are remnants of fortifications from both world wars and a C12 fortification - Dunskeath Castle - is sited on the North Sutor.
