Scope and Content This is a general view of the Longman Industrial Estate with the A9 running from bottom left to the Kessock Bridge (opened 1982) and the Black Isle beyond. On the right of the A9 is the reclaimed area which was for many years the town landfill site (closed 2003). To the right of the bridge is the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium which opened in 1996 and provides modern facilities for Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC which was formed by amalgamating Inverness Thistle FC and Inverness Caledonian FC in 1994. The Longman Industrial Estate was the site of the Longman airfield which was opened in 1933 and closed in 1947.
