Scope and Content Carbisdale is a 20th century "castle" built on a wooded hill overlooking the Kyle of Sutherland and the railway line north. It was built for the dowager Duchess of Sutherland in 1910. This is also the site of a battle on Lamentation Hill in 1650 involving Montrose. Carbisdale Castle Service Court is in the foreground, for which there are no details on Canmore or HER. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
