Scope and Content The Kessock Bridge was opened in 1982, replacing the Kessock Ferry which had operated between South and North Kessock for at least 400 years. The piers at North Kessock can be seen in this view at centre left. Craigton, North Kessock and Charlestown are the communities on the Black Isle opposite Inverness and above the Kessock Bridge is Ord Hill which has a vitrified fort at its summit. The mouth of the River Ness is at bottom right and the site of Cairn Arc is on the Western Breakwater. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
