Scope and Content In this view Munlochy Bay runs out of picture at centre right with the Beauly Firth doing the same above it. Inverness and Loch Ness are in the distance at top of picture. The village of Avoch is at bottom left and above it is Wood Hill with Ormond Castle at its lower end. Ormond castle is said to have been built c. 1179 but was destroyed on the approach of Cromwell's army. It was surveyed by NOSAS and the Avoch Community Archaeology Group in 2016. On the other side of the entrance to Munlochy Bat is Craigiehowe Wood where there are several hut circles and cairns.
