Scope and Content This is a general view of the Cromarty Firth which is used as a parking place for oil and gas rigs which are either not in use or are undergoing refurbishment. Invergordon harbour and piers are just coming into view at centre right and above them is Dalmore Pier at Alness and the causeway at Evanton airfield. Newhall Point, where there was an anti aircraft gun emplacement during WW2, is opposite Invergordon and behind it is Ferryton Point, where the Cromarty Firth curves SW.
