Scope and Content Golspie is a planned village, laid out in 1805. Early OS maps show a market stance in the area of the recreation ground at bottom of picture. There is a C19 military battery on the coast at centre right. In the distance is Dunrobin Castle, seat of the Sutherland family since the C12, and Brora can just be seen at top left of picture.
