Scope and Content The Kessock Bridge was opened in 1982 and replaced the ferry that had run between South Kessock and North Kessock for at least 400 years. North Kessock can be seen to the left of the bridge on the Black Isle. The Longman Industrial Estate which was developed after WW2 is at the bottom of the picture and the Western Breakwater can be seen at centre left. A cairn of stones is situated near the end of the breakwater, as a warning to approaching vessels of danger. On the Black Isle, at top of picture is Ord Hill with its vitrified fort.
