Scope and Content Little Ferry is a small village on the north side (on the left in this view) of the narrows where Loch Fleet enters the sea. It was a historic crossing point but when the Mound was established at the beginning of the C19, the crossing was reduced to local traffic. There was a battle on this site in 1746 and a secret WW2 bunker is situated to the west of the village. Almost a hundred people died in August 1809 when the ferry boat across this narrows capsized due to overloading. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
