Scope and Content The image centres on Fettercairn House and garden. The House started in 1666 as a simple three-storey building, but was radically changed and expanded between 1839 and 1877. It has been in the possession of the Forbes family, having been acquired through marriage by the son of the eminent Scottish financier Sir William Forbers in 1797. The house was sold by the family in 2016. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
