Scope and Content The river Ness and the tip of Ness islands is at the top of the photo. On the shore of the river is Holm Mills water and woollen mill 19c , now a retail outlet. The lade runs beside the river. The Dores road B862 centre in the photo is on the line of Wade's Military road. Lochardil Primary school is centre left and beside it in the trees is Lochardil Hotel, a listed building designed by John Rhind in 1876.
