Scope and Content Ornate, gilded cast-iron fountain in the style of the French 2nd Empire (late 19th/ early 20th century). Sculpted by Jean -Baptiste Klagmann and cast by Antoine Durenne at Sommevoire sur Marne, near Paris, the fountain was gifted to the City of Edinburgh by Daniel Ross, an Edinburgh businessman. This image forms part of a photographic record made during the dismantling of the fountain. The cast iron elements (all 122) were sent down to a workshop in the North of England to undergo conservation in 2017/2018.
