Administrative History An architectural practice based in Edinburgh, this originated in a partnership formed in 1971 between Nicholas Groves-Raines and Edwin Johnston and Alec Brown. In 1972 this became Johnston Groves-Raines, in 1977 Groves-Raines and Spens, in 1979 Nicholas Groves-Raines Architects, and in 2007 Groves Raines-Architects Ltd. The practice specialises in the conservation and sustainable reuse of historic buildings. Projects include Lamb's House, Leith: Edgehill, East Lothian; Vaila, Shetland; Lennox Tower, Liberton.
