Scope and Content This is a full size cartoon of a stained glass window light located in the Thistle Chapel of St Giles Cathedral. The cartoon makes reference to 'Home' and has a lion design, but also includes a salamander. There are various handwritten notes on the cartoon, including ' Thistle Chapel. Heraldic cartoon for glass. Motto scrolls any colour' located at the top. The cartoon is stamped with 'R.S. Lorimer' in the bottom right. The design can be attributed to Lorimer, but it was executed by stained glass artist Louis Davis who worked with Lorimer on several projects.
