Scope and Content This is a digital copy showing a full size cartoon of a wooden relief panel designed for the Thistle Chapel in St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh. The cartoon is of the Montrose relief panel, illustrated by the Montrose emblem at the bottom. The top half of the cartoon is a drawing depicting several storks surrounding a shield. The motto 'N'oubliez' can be made out at the top of the panel design. In the top left there are handwritten specifications detailing theproposed colours for the panel. Drawing is stamped with 'R.S. Lorimer' in the bottom right.
