Scope and Content This is a 102-page compilation by Margaret R. Curtis of information concerning the sun at Callanish. It has five main sections, relating to four separate sites of stones within 1. Group of five rocks and shaft of sunlight and pits (70 pages). These rocks lie 17m south of the wall marking the south boundary of the Ancient Monument, thus lying outside the protected area; they lie 5.5m N of the hill Cnoc an Tursa 2. Five rocks and viewing stance (7 pages). The same rocks. 3. Midsummer sunrise stone window (7 pages). This relates to two stones, (numbers 51 and 52) in the NW of the circle at Callanish I, set close to each other. 4. Stone alignment for spring and autumn equinox sunrises (7 pages). This relates to a row of four stones (numbers 20, 21 22 and 23) standing to the W of the circle at Callanish I. 5, Midsummer sunrise alignment and symmetrical triple stone setting. This relates to a trio of stones (numbers 42, 43 and 44)
