SC 1401144

Description View of A O Curle, A T Curle and unidentified lady.

Date 1935

Collection Papers of Cecil L Curle, archaeologist, Edinburgh, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1401144

Category On-line Digital Images

Copy of E 69556

Scope and Content A O Curle flanked on his right by his son, A T Curle, and on his left by a lady who could possibly be Mrs Peter Murray Threipland who is known to have helped A O Curle in his 1935 excavations at Jarlshof. They are itting on a bench agaist a well-built wall, perhaps the Sumburgh Hotel. The shadow of the photographer shows a long skirt, and this is likely to have been Cecil Mowbray herself (later Mrs Cecil Curle).
