Description Interior of Kiln No. 1 at Mayfield Brickworks showing conveyor supply of green bricks to kiln. The bricks would be directed down this portable brick ramp to the square opening into the kiln chamber below. A similar piece of equipment would catch the green or unfired bricks as they came through the charging hole and were then hand packed in the kiln chamber below. Conveyor dates from 1947.
