Scope and Content Read Petrie's paper to the Society on 14 Feb on recent excavations in Orkney (PSAS 2, 56-62), including Holm of Papa Westray South and Pickaquoy carvings: 'It would be very desirable to have casts of the sculptures, either in plaster of Paris, or by wetting paper of the proper sort, and getting impressions by pressing it into the hollows in the stone. No drawing or tracing can ever be trusted to.' Compares carvings with New Grange & Carnac. Has not yet been able to include Fotheringhame's paper on the life of Swein Asleif (PSAS 2, 278-87).
