Scope and Content This collection consists of 201 photo albums showing the construction of power stations around Scotland. These photographs appear to have been taken by professional photographers and document construction and station interiors. The collection is arranged by Group, Sub Group (Named Power Station), Batch (Photo Album), and Item (Photograph). The physical photo albums are arranged in ascending order and are stored in archival boxes. The numbering of the photo albums corresponds with the batch numbering in the collection hierarchy. For example, Scottish Photo Album #1 corresponds with Batch 123/1, Album #2 corresponds with Batch 123/2, etc. Elements of this collection were digitised as part of the Historic Environment Scotland Digital Projects team, 2017-2021. Item level title/description fields were generated from the corresponding batch level record. Most images in this collection have individual captions which are either an intrinsic part of the photograph or exist on a separate sheet stored with the collection. Due to limited staff time these title/description fields have not been transcribed to the digitised image.
