Description Interior view of Cask Rebuilding and Rejuvination Process, Dundashill Cooperage, Glasgow. Vertical Cask Hoop Driving Machine. Second Cask Hoop Drive. The cask sits vertically in the machine. The arms of the machine are in the process of forcing one of the bilge hoops down for a second time after the cask has cooled down after steaming or charring. This tightens the cask by forcing the oak staves and chimes together. The cask is now ready for testing.
