C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - SUERC-10801

Sample CH06#46 Context 473 Fill layer 473 in forecourt of House 1370 (northern roundhouse). Deposit of red and black peat ash above fill layer 474 (dated by OSL to 440-120BC), and covered by 472. Site Phase 12. The deer right tibia is likely to have been deposited into this layer as it formed. Very little time is likely to have elapsed between the death of the deer and the incorporation of it's articulating tibia into the archaeological context of the deposit.
