Sample CH06#44 Context 1555 Fill of a small, shallow pit (above northern roundhouse). The pit (1554) was dug into fill layer 1220 and sealed beneath fill layer 731. Deposit of brown sand containing the partial skeleton of a lamb. Site Phase 12. The articulated lamb skeleton is likely to have been placed as a formal deposit. Very little time is likely to have elapsed between the death of the lamb and the incorporation of its articulated skeleton into the archaeological context of the deposit.
