Sample CH06# 11 Context 2883 Fill layer 2883 in House 3260 (tiny roundhouse under House 801). Deposit of brown sand forming the uppermost abandonment fill within House 3260. It lay above the lower fill (3261) of the house and was sealed by the wall core (803 = 2482) of House 801. Layer 2482 is dated by OSL to 1200-780 BC whilst the earlier wall of House 3260 is OSL dated to 980-540BC. Site Phase 7. The articulated cattle tibia is likely to have been deposited into this layer as it formed. Very little time is likely to have elapsed between the death of the animal and the incorporation of its articulating bones into the archaeological context of the deposit.
