C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - GU-4542

An oak pile driven through a square mortise hole in one of the 9 horizontal timbers, which forms the horizontal timber framework on the western side of the Redcastle site. It was sealed by estuarine sediments and covered by large surface The pile was cut and possibly worked prior to being driven to hold the horizontal timbers in place.
