A charred hulled barley grain (4049) from a thin layer of dark brown peaty sand which forms the lowest occupation surface floor layer 2211 in House 1370 (the 108429rthern roundhouse). It is sealed by a make-up layer (2210) and itself seals the foundation pits which include those containing human skeletons 2613 and 2638.
