On the bank above the ruins of North Berwick Priory (NT 545 849) is a well called Abb's Well; some lead piping was found in the ground near by.

Abb's Well cannot be found; the area is now occupied by modern houses.

Ferrier may be referring to this well when he notes a well, belonging to the Priory, in the garden of a house named Oldfields.
