Architecture Notes

NT43NE 72.01 47470 37821

A mill lade and sluice gate are situated immediately E of the Gala Water and S of the dismantled railway bridge (NT43NE 100.08).

The cast iron sluice gate is reasonably complete and only some of the plate metal slabs forming the gate have fallen. The N end of the leet and the channel leading to the gate are in stone

The mill lade can be followed almost the full length to Buckholm Mills (NT43NE 72.00)
