Site of a mediaeval gallows, where three 'stone coffins or Kistvaens' were found in 1859.
Name Book 1864
Presumably the gallows were on the summit of Gallows Knowe, at NO 2517 3373. (Name wrongly centred on OS 25"). The find spot of the cists is slightly off the top of the knowe, which is natural. No further information.
