World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (26 June 2013)

Osborne (2006) notes the existence of an 'armoury' near Pitlochry station by 1910, comprising a front block, rear block and hall behind. Garages to rear.

The building is of whinstone and slate. Single storey.

The building is now a dwelling, having been 'The Old Armoury' restaurant for some years.

In 1914 the hall was drill station for "A" Squadron, 1st Scottish Horse and for "G" Company, 6th battalion Black Watch.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 26 June 2013; M Osborne 2006.
