This railway bridge over the canal is sufficiently elevated to allow towpath access below.

The Forth and Clyde Canal Guidebook 1991.

This old railway bridge is now covered in graffiti, and is located only a short distance to the W of the current termination of the canal.

H Brown 1997.

This bridge is clearly visible on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1993) and on the OS Basic Scale digital map (2000), but, like the railway, does not appear on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Stirlingshire 1865, sheet xxiv).

Information from RCAHMS (MD) 14 November 2000.
