Scope and Content Main Corridor, Kildonan House, Barrhill, Ayrshire Kildonan House, Barrhill was designed in the early part of the 20th century in the English Manorial Revival style for Captain Euan Wallace, MP. The interior of the house was photographed in c.1927 by the architectural photographer, Harry Bedford Lemere. The main corridor has a barrel-vaulted ceiling, and a row of Tudor-style mullioned windows with metal casements. The corridor gives access to the principal rooms, and is furnished very much in the style of an English manor house. The house proved to be too big for its owner and was put up for sale in 1930. It became a hospital during World War II, and later, a convent boarding school. In 1988 it was developed as a luxury hotel, and recently was converted into holiday flats.
