Scope and Content Gravestone commemorating David Sevitch, Abercorn churchyard, West Lothian This gravestone commemorates David Sevitch, a tailor, who died in 1707 aged 54. David's trade as a tailor is attested by the pair of scissors and tailor's 'goose', a kind of smoothing iron, in the panel above the inscription. Skulls, crossbones and an hourglass signify mortality, whilst the cherub symbolises David's soul.
