Scope and Content Skew railway overbridge, Bilsdean, East Lothian In general character this bridge is typical of those throughout the North British Railway's Edinburgh-Berwick line, but this one is unusually sharply skewed - the road crosses the railway at a sharp angle. This view shows the fine masonry construction of the bridge, with ashlar parapets, arch rings, copes and quoins and snecked rubble wing walls. Virtually all the overbridges on this line were drastically rebuilt when it was electrified in the 1980s. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
