Scope and Content Back of the Miramichi building, which served as offices for the Glen Shipyard of Scott Lithgow Ltd., Greenock The Miramichi building was built as two residential tenements. This view shows how the shipyard eventually absorbed them The building 's two circular stair towers are unusual and striking features, seen here against a background of Port Glasgow. In the foreground there are subassemblies of tanker bottom waiting to be placed in position on the building slip The limited area of riverside ground available for shipyard construction at Port Glasgow is seen here. The Glen Yard and its predecessors were built largely on reclaimed ground. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
