Scope and Content Interior, south extension of Castle Leod, near Strathpeffer, Highland Castle Leod was probably rebuilt after 1608 - the year Roderick Mackenzie received the estate from his brother - and enlarged a few years later. It fell into disuse in the 18th century and was restored, altered and extended in the 19th century. This is the view from the top of the scale-and-plat stair contained in the 17th-century south extension of the east-west block. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
